One of the highly talked about terms in the UX design is “User Persona”. While most of other UX elements are crucial, user persona should be on the top of our checklist.

User Persona refers to understanding various scenarios of the user in which a product is likely to be used. In this designing phase, various scenarios are analysed to consider them while designing a product.

Persona Analysis

Real life situations are more to be considered in the user persona. For an example, you are designing a mobile application for a European country that remains cold throughout the year.

So before designing, you have to consider that the user should be able to use the application in all the possible scenarios i.e. even at zero degree. Persona Analysis is the primary thing to be done while carrying out a UX project.

Here is a list of things that you need to do while performing Persona Analysis.

  • You can start up with compiling all the information you already have about the user. Prepare a spreadsheet by all those information and proceed further.
  • Make a thorough study of the type of industry you are designing for. Meet with the people of those industry and figure out what are their pain points etc.
  • You may also create affinity diagram by organizing all your information such as the industries in which your customers work and the type of devices they use and at what time of day.

A persona deals with the personality. The more you understand the user, the more fruitful experience it would be.

Once you are done studying persona, it’s time to get feedback from your colleagues and design the product. In short, user persona can give you a real insights about your customers, and would provide better result while designing
