An empathy map is tool teams that help you to obtain an understanding of a targeted persona. Empathy map is basically used when you want to perform a better user experience of your product/service, to design better work environments.
When to Use Empathy Maps-
Empathy maps are more helpful at the beginning of the design process. complete your empathy maps Before gathering the product requirements, But after the initial user research. Empathy maps provide the best result if they’re drawn from real data, But you can still draw the map on the basis of your existing knowledge and stakeholder feedback. Empathy mab is designed by keeping the following question in their mind like-
- What will be the user’s fears or pain points when using our product?
- What would be the user’s feeling and thinking, And what would user experience while using our product in their environment?
When done well, It creates a UX ripple effect, that affects the entire project in terms of the product requirements, affects the product strategy, which also affects wireframes, prototyping etc.

- Feelings –It is a user’s emotional state. How is the user feeling about the experience?
- Thoughts- It is about what the user is thinking?
- Sights-What would the user see while experiencing product/ service? Where will the user’s eyes go?
