Here are 13 awesome simple tips and tricks to boost your workflow in Photoshop CC.
- Marquee Selections – Click and drag to create a selection and press space bar to move the selection to the desired area.
- Undo – Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance and move the slider of History states from default 50 to 1000. Now you can undo back upto 1000 times but be careful as it may lead to performance issues in Photoshop.
- Blend Modes – Use the shortcut Shift + or Shift – to quickly cycle through them without even going to the layer panel.
- Ctrl + Shift + Alt T is the keyboard shortcut that repeats the last transformation you did on a layer.
- If you hold Alt and move your cursor on the line between two layer thumbnails in layer panel and click on it, it will clip the upper layer with the lower one and this will make content of upper layer to appear within the constraints of the content of lower layer.
- Holding H while zoomed in close will make the document retract and fit in view to enable you to move your focus area to another part of the document. Releasing H will zoom in on the new area.
- If you right click on the area outside of canvas, you can change it’s color to different shades of grey or any other color of your choice to change the ambience of your document.
- To close all open documents at once, either right click on the document’s tab and choose close all or Shift + Left click the close icon of any document.
- Hold Ctrl + Spacebar and Left click + drag to zoom interactively at the point where your cursor is on the screen.
- Group Shortcuts – Ctrl + Alt + Left clicking on the arrow to the left of a Group will expand all the groups in layer panel. Repeating the command will collapse all the expanded groups.
Ctrl + Left clicking on the arrow to the left of a Group will expand all the parent groups in layer panel leaving the sub groups (child groups) in their last state. Ctrl + Left clicking again will collapse all the expanded groups.
Alt + Left clicking on the eye of any layer or group will turn off all other layers in the document. - If you Hold Ctrl while using any tool, it will change temporarily to Move tool.
- Use different filters at the top of layers panel to display specific types of layers.
- Right click on any layer or group and select Export as. It will pop up a UI where you can export the contents of layer only and at different scaling.
